Excessive and prolonged flow of blood during menstrual cycles in women is referred to as menorrhagia. This condition can be commonly found in large numbers of women. It is caused due to hormonal imbalance in the body. Use of certain medicines that are anti-inflammatory and anticoagulant in nature may also give rise to this condition. Similarly, blood thinning devices or medicines may also make the condition worse. Sometimes hereditary factors may also lead to this condition. Due to uncontrolled and prolonged blood flow, the concerned women may even suffer from anaemia and physical weakness. There is constant feeling of tiredness, exhaustion and fatigue in such women.
