Obviously, sciatica is a disorder associated with the sciatic nerve of the brain. Under this condition, the sciatic nerve gets compressed or suffers from injury as a result of which the supply of blood and oxygen through this nerve is affected. Since blood and oxygen supply to the sciatic nerve is reduced therefore there is feeling of pain as well as numbness in the lower back.
Also the patient may suffer from feeling of numbness in the legs and the lower limbs. Chiefly, sciatica is caused due to inactive lifestyle or standing or sitting in the same condition for long hours. The condition becomes worse upon walking, standing or other physical movements.
